On this relaxed Sunday morning, I found my mind wandering to a place it spends a lot of time in these days. My memories. And some of my fondest memories have been with my friends. It’s beautiful really, that a moment can last all of a second but the memories last forever. And while people change and diverge along different paths, we always have their memories to keep us company when we need it.
Sunset by the lake, Meandering conversations, Strolling down memory lane, To my safe haven. Jotted down travel plans, On worn-out scraps of paper, Yearning for fruition, A magnificent caper. Buttered popcorn and feature films, Often spoiled for choice, Patented wisecracks, Yield gales of joy. Fresh coffee aroma, Wafting through the air, Spilling over stories, Of love and despair. Coerced to dance, With my two left feet, Moments before sunrise, Worries obsolete. With generous doses, Of inebriated laughter, Choices I regret, In the morning after. Memories I cherish deeply, Those I forgot to record, Etched in my mind, A bountiful hoard. Lonesome in the terrace, Echoes carried by the breeze, Will we see each other again? Or get lost in our memories.
